Create a Word report with Codex

Connect your assistant, prepare the SmartArt skill, then create the document you need.

   Connect Codex

   1. In the desktop app, open Settings → MCP servers → Add server.
   2. Enter NativeDiagram, select Streamable HTTP, and paste the server URL above.
   3. Save, then select Restart. Select Authenticate to sign in to NativeDiagram and allow access.
   4. Start a task and type /mcp to check available servers, then send the example below.

   In the IDE extension, open the gear menu → MCP servers and restart the extension after saving. See the official setup guide if your interface differs.

   Add the SmartArt skill

   The skill guides layout choice and native insertion into your complete document.

   Download SmartArt skill (.zip)

   Ask Codex to install the downloaded ZIP in your personal skills directory. For a manual installation, extract it to ~/.agents/skills/native-smartart/.

   Keep the complete folder, including references, the insertion script and release.json. Confirm Native SmartArt appears in Skills; restart Codex if needed. Keep one installed copy.

   Your assistant needs file downloads, document or presentation tools, Python with lxml, and rendering. Ask it to check these before generating.

   Ask for the complete document

   Send the request in Codex to prepare the whole Word report. No separate trial diagram is required. Each successful SmartArt creation uses one credit; composing the document locally uses none.

   Use the Native SmartArt skill together with your available document tools to create a two-page project startup report in Word. Include objectives, a Plan → Build → Test process as native editable SmartArt, a responsibilities table, and key risks. Use the bundled insertion script, inspect the final pages, and deliver one complete DOCX, not a separate diagram. If the required local tools are unavailable, explain that before generating.
